![]() The weathering was done with Tamiya Weathering Master, Vallejo Metal Color aluminum applied with a sponge and fan brush, a silver artist pencil, and Flory washes. I used the wing fold brackets and switch panels next to the gun sight from a Tamiya kit, and used a Falcon vacuform canopy, as the kit canopy, as molded, was wrong for an F4U-4B. The decals are from the kit, with some aftermarket stencils. Paint is Vallejo Model Air, topped with Mr Hobby aqueous clear. The WIP outlining everything done is here: The plan was to try to make something presentable out of this old kit, using as much of the kit as possible, along with scratch building. Hobby Lobby had their 40% sale, and I was up for a challenge, so here we are. The end results on both were questionable at best, and all the working features worked for roughly 7 minutes after completion. I built this kit twice as a kid, complete with working features. ![]() I had been wanting to build a Korean War era Corsair, and had been eyeing the old Revellogram F4U-4- the one from 1963, with the working features- at Hobby Lobby for some time.
